Use of this and these in Urdu

This (یہ (ایک

These(یہ (ایک سے زیادہ

ان کو قریب کی چیزوں کے لیے استعمال کرتے ہیں۔

This (singular) and these (plural) to refer to something that is near.

Example sentences:

  • This is my car. (singular)
  • This is my daughter.
  • These are our children. (plural)
  • These are her neighbors.

Use of that and those:

That (ایک چیز( وہ

Those (زیادہ چیزیں( وہ

دور کی چیزوں کے لیے

That (singular) and those (plural) to refer to something that is far.

Example sentences:

  • That is our house. (singular)
  • That is my car.
  • Those are my shoes. (plural)
  • Those are his clothes.

Note that the verb changes (singular / plural) depending on the pronoun that you using.

You can also use Demonstrative Pronouns by themselves:

  • Did you do that?
  • I’d like to buy these?
  • Which of those would you like?
