Use of “As Though” & “As If”

Both these expressions have similar meanings and can be used interchangeably, though “as though” is more formal in certain contexts.
Meaning:
- As though or As if means “گویا” in Urdu. These phrases suggest that something seems to be true, even if it may not be.
Examples:
- He walks as though he is a lame man.
وہ یوں چلتا ہے گویا وہ لنگڑا آدمی ہے۔ - He behaves as if he is the authority.
اس کا رویہ ایسا ہے گویا صاحب اختیار شخصیت ہے۔ - She sings as if she is a singer.
وہ ایسے گاتی ہے جیسے کہ وہ کوئی گلوکارہ ہے۔ - You are afraid as if he was a ghost.
تم تو ایسے ڈر جاتے ہو جیسے کہ وہ کوئی بھوت ہو۔ - It seems as if you have lost something.
ایسا لگتا ہے جیسا کہ تمہارا کچھ کھو گیا ہے۔ - It seems as if the police are after you.
